Mexico Trip Praise April 2016

Posted on May 02 , 2016 in Blog & Ongoing

Thank you for your prayers!! Our time in Ensenada was a very special time! God is so awesome and we praise Him for the wonderful work He continues to do with our partners in Mexico!!
Friday night we visited with Al and Rosa Castro. It was wonderful to hear how God is blessing and multiplying their ministry. They continue to equip and train leaders and have also started a marriage enrichment group. Please continue to pray for their ministry, and may God continue to provide for all their needs.

On Saturday we ministered to the homeless in downtown Ensenada with Pastor Javier and his family. We had the opportunity to pray for some of the people. We then came back to Martha’s shelter. Eddie and Bob were our resident handymen and worked on some needed repairs around the shelter. Martha was very appreciative of their labor of love–whether it was installing a new faucet, repairing drywall, installing new doorknobs, etc. Please continue to pray for Martin and Jorge, the two young men who are are the shelter right now, may God continue to work in their lives!

Grace, George, and Mika put on an awesome children’s ministry time. They shared the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. The children enjoyed the craft and also loved spending time playing with them. I was reminded of how some simple acts of love such as sharing a smile, providing hugs, sharing candy, simply spending time with these children can actually have an impact on them. Kindness goes a long way. I remember hearing Martha share that when she was a child, one of her first encounters of God’s love was through a missionary giving her a piece of candy. She still remembers being touched that someone from a different country would come all the way to Mexico and show God’s love to her. It was these acts of kindness which led her to understand who God was.

We also spent some time with Pastor Javier Saturday afternoon and heard more about what has been happening at the rehab center. One of the biggest praises is that Nico–a man who we prayed for on our last trip because he had tuberculosis– was healed!! God continues to do his miraculous work and honors our prayers!! We were also able to hear about how Pastor Javier and Sylvia decided to take in Sylvia’s niece’s daughter (Stacy). Stacy was being neglected by her mother so Pastor Javier and Sylvia took her in as their own child. We were touched by the deep love that Pastor Javier and Sylvia have to care for those around them and their willingness to put their love in action.

Eating tacos

On Saturday night, we all went to dinner together with Pastor Javier and Martha and their families. We filled up Las Brisas–one of our favorite taco places–and ate tacos to our hearts’ content!

Thank you for all your prayers and financial support. You are truly helping to make an impact in Ensenada!! God is multiplying your generosity. One of the fun things was being out in downtown Ensenada feeding the homeless and seeing one of the men we regularly see out there wearing a Yonsei basketball league shirt! So please know your donations are being used and appreciated!!

Thank you for your commitment to us and this ministry! Your prayers and support are truly helping to expand God’s Kingdom!!
