Ichinoseki: Fun-filled Easter Weekend

Posted on Apr 09 , 2012 in Blog & Ongoing

Happy Easter!

We have been blessed in being able to share Easter for the first time with many of the people of Japan! This weekend we dyed eggs, made baskets and delivered “omiyage” to many kasetsus (temporary housing units) wishing them all a Happy Easter. Today, our group split up into two, I went to the church a couple hours away from base. For the past twenty years this church has had only 4 members, so bringing 7 people to their service was a huge blessing for them. I translated a testimony presented by a member of CRASH and also translated the sermon.

It happens to also be Sharon’s birthday! To celebrate we ate a delicious meal at a local restaurant. We had to say goodbye to a volunteer from Tokyo who became part of our team for a few days. It was sad to see her go and her ability to speak Japanese was a huge blessing.

Time to sleep, it has been a long day.

    Hi Aki & Team:

We missed all of you on Easter, but prayed as a congregation for the Lord’s continued empowerment and blessing upon you.

I’ve been posting both team’s blogs on the Missions Bulletin Board to read for those in our church who are computer challenged.

Thanks again to you all for your service to our Lord.
