Ichinoseki: First Mobile Cafe!

Posted on Apr 05 , 2012 in Blog & Ongoing

Good evening from Ichinoseki base camp!

It has been a great day! We set up our first mobile cafe in Jounan Chuugakkou (Jounan Elementary School), a temporary housing unit for survivors. We did hand massages, made lanyards, handed out knitted scarves, hats and mittens and made coffee, ocha and waffels for snack!

Aki was busy translating for as many people as she could, but wasn’t able to get to everyone. However with God’s grace, everyone was able to converse with broken English, broken Japanese and smiles.

Smiles — the international language! Good to hear that you all are doing so well with your first mobile cafe.
